A boat is more than fun, it's a hole in the water one pours money into. I whipped these sloppy but handy things up for the owners of the TOBBEDANSER.
Navy Blue Bag
Bargain bin wool used to make a flat pouch with pocket.
Construction is very similar to the the shellbag,
but this has no flap and the pocket is a separate rectangle. Orange trim adds
contrast which is helpful when ones drunk and it's dark and trying to get
something in the pocket. Intended to hold a can of beer and smoke supplies.
In use it was perfect for a bottle of wine. (Boy do those double stitches
stretch). The handle is meant to be looped through a boat rail. Double crochet
and tube stitch.
Lanyard
Before proceeding under a canal bridge a horn is blown
to alert other boaters who may be on the other side. The TOBBEDANSER's original
horn rolled overboard. This lanyard was made for the replacement horn and
apparently worked rather well. Made in Queen's Orange discount wool. Tube
stitch double crochet.
Small Plastic Pouch
I'd never used plastic twine before but it was laying
around and seemed good for outdoor use. The pouch was sized to hold cigarettes,
keys, or a can of beer. The short handle was to be looped over a peg near
the ship's wheel. Double crochet rectangle but folded in the same direction
as the stitches.
Location
Made in Amsterdam, De Haag, and Volendam.
