The directions seem weird, but work. You can make this in other flavors but I like the lime best-not too sweet and sorta zippy. Goes great with a gin and tonic.
Get a large bowl. Dump jello in bowl. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons hot water. This is called "blooming" the gelatin. It will be a nasty looking, sticky lump. Don't mess with it, let is sit for a few minutes.
Add boiling water to jello blob, stir, it will be thick and sticky, keep stirring. I've given up measuring, and have probably used up to a 1/2c water and it came out ok. If all the jello isn't dissolved, no big whoop. Let this thick jello sit and cool down. If you add cold yogurt to hot jello the jello sets instantly-which ain't so hot.
Add room temp. yogurt to jello stuff and beat with a hand mixer until well combined, or it's all the same color.
When yogurt and jello are well combined add 1/2 to 3/4 of the container of cool type whip. I find if I use a whole container I can't use the plastic lid that came with the store bought crust cuz the pie is too high.
Pour finished stuff in the pie crust. Chill for an hour or more. Garnish with fruit, serve, enjoy!
